Interleukin 17D (IL-17D) ist ein Mitglied der einzigartigen IL-17-Familie, die ein konserviertes Cystein-Motiv teilen. Es ist auf 13q12.11 kartiert. IL-17D reguliert die Zytokinproduktion in Endothelzellen und hemmt die Hämopoese in vitro. Gereinigtes rekombinantes IL-17D hemmte die Koloniebildung von myeloischen Vorläuferzellen. IL-17D kann die Produktion von IL6, IL8 und GMCSF durch Endothelzellen steigern, jedoch nicht die anderer Zytokine. Es wird bevorzugt in Skelettmuskeln, Gehirn, Fettgewebe, Herz, Lunge und Pankreas exprimiert.
