Das Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2 (IGFBP2), auch IBP2 genannt, ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das IGFBP2-Gen kodiert wird. Es ist auf 2q35 kartiert. Strukturelle Analysen zeigten, dass das IGFBP2-Gen aus 4 Exons mit 3 Introns von 27,0, 1,0 und 1,9 kb Länge besteht. IGFBP2, das von metastasierenden Zellen sezerniert wird, rekrutiert Endothelzellen, indem es die IGF1-vermittelte Aktivierung des IGF-Typ-I-Rezeptors auf Endothelzellen moduliert. Die IGFBP2/IGF1/IGF1R- und GAS6/MERTK-Signalwege sind Regulatoren der krebsvermittelten Endothelrekrutierung.
