Chemokine (C-C-Motiv) Ligand 17 (CCL17) ist ein kleines Zytokin aus der Familie der CC-Chemokine, das auch als Thymus- und Aktivierungs-reguliertes Chemokin (TARC) bekannt ist. CCL17 wird konstitutiv im Thymus exprimiert, jedoch nur transient in Phytohämagglutinin-stimulierten peripheren Blutmononukleären Zellen.1 Dieses Chemokin bindet spezifisch T-Zellen und induziert Chemotaxis in ihnen und entfaltet seine Wirkung durch Interaktion mit dem Chemokinrezeptor CCR4.1,2 Das Gen für CCL17 befindet sich beim Menschen auf Chromosom 16, zusammen mit anderen Chemokinen namens CCL22 und CX3CL1.3,4 Der in diesem Kit verwendete Standard ist rekombinantes humanes CCL17, bestehend aus 71 Aminosäuren mit einem Molekulargewicht von 8 kDa.
