Hintergrund

Das durch dieses Gen kodierte Protein ist eine Komponente des Hippo-Signalwegs, der die Organgröße und das Tumorwachstum durch Verstärkung der Apoptose kontrolliert. Der Verlust des kodierten Proteins führt zu Zellproliferation und Krebsentstehung. Das kodierte Protein ist auch an der Kontrolle der Mikrotubulusstabilität während der Zytokinese beteiligt. Für dieses Gen wurden mehrere Transkriptvarianten gefunden, die verschiedene Isoformen kodieren. [bereitgestellt von RefSeq, Nov 2015]
