Isocitrat-Dehydrogenase 3 (NAD(+)) beta (IDH3B) Homo sapiens Isocitrat-Dehydrogenasen katalysieren die oxidative Decarboxylierung von Isocitrat zu 2-Oxoglutarat. Diese Enzyme gehören zu zwei verschiedenen Unterklassen, von denen eine NAD(+) als Elektronenakzeptor verwendet und die andere NADP(+). Es wurden fünf Isocitrat-Dehydrogenasen beschrieben: drei NAD(+)-abhängige Isocitrat-Dehydrogenasen, die in der mitochondrialen Matrix lokalisiert sind, und zwei NADP(+)-abhängige Isocitrat-Dehydrogenasen, von denen eine mitochondrial und die andere überwiegend zytosolisch ist. NAD(+)-abhängige Isocitrat-Dehydrogenasen katalysieren den allosterisch regulierten geschwindigkeitsbestimmenden Schritt des Zitronensäurezyklus. Jedes Isoenzym ist ein Heterotetramer, das aus zwei Alpha-Untereinheiten, einer Beta-Untereinheit und einer Gamma-Untereinheit besteht.
