Ficolin 1 (FCN1) Homo sapiens Die Ficolin-Proteinfamilie ist gekennzeichnet durch das Vorhandensein eines Leader-Peptids, eines kurzen N-terminalen Segments, gefolgt von einer kollagenartigen Region und einer C-terminalen fibrinogenähnlichen Domäne. Die kollagenartigen und die fibrinogenähnlichen Domänen finden sich auch separat in anderen Proteinen wie dem Komplementprotein C1q, C-Typ-Lektinen, bekannt als Kollektine, und Tenascinen. Alle diese Proteine erkennen jedoch unterschiedliche Ziele und sind funktionell verschieden. Ficolin 1, kodiert durch FCN1, wird überwiegend in peripheren Blutleukozyten exprimiert und es wird angenommen, dass es als Plasmaprotein mit Elastin-bindender Aktivität fungiert.
