Hintergrund

Das Produkt dieses Gens gehört zur Familie der Rezeptor-interagierenden Proteine (RIP) von Serin/Threonin-Proteinkinasen und enthält eine C-terminale Domäne, die sich von anderen RIP-Familienmitgliedern unterscheidet. Das kodierte Protein ist überwiegend im Zytoplasma lokalisiert und kann eine nukleozytoplasmatische Wanderung durchlaufen, abhängig von neuen Kernlokalisierungs- und Exportsignalen. Es ist eine Komponente des Tumornekrosefaktor (TNF)-Rezeptor-I-Signalgebungskomplexes und kann Apoptose induzieren und den NF-kappaB-Transkriptionsfaktor schwach aktivieren.
