CD5 Antigen-Like (CD5L) ist ein lösliches Protein, das zur Gruppe B der Scavenger-Rezeptor-Cystein-reichen (SRCR) Superfamilie gehört und drei SRCR-Domänen enthält. CD5L ist ein sezerniertes Glykoprotein und wird von Makrophagen exprimiert, die in lymphatischen Geweben vorhanden sind. Es bindet an myelomonozytäre und lymphoide Zellen und spielt möglicherweise eine wichtige Rolle bei der Regulierung des angeborenen und adaptiven Immunsystems. CD5L fungiert als Mustererkennungsmolekül, indem es sowohl Lipoteichonsäure (LTA) an Gram-positiven als auch Lipopolysaccharid (LPS) an Gram-negativen Bakterien bindet, und die SRCR-Domäne eins von CD5L behält sowohl die LPS- als auch die LTA-Bindungsaktivitäten bei. Darüber hinaus scheint CD5L eine Rolle als Apoptose-Inhibitor zu spielen.
