Das Tumornekrosefaktor-Rezeptor-Superfamilienmitglied 1B (TNFRSF1B) ist ein Mitglied der Tumornekrosefaktor-Rezeptor-Superfamilie. Humanes TNF RII enthält vier cysteinreiche Wiederholungen in seinem ECD, das eine 58%ige bzw. 56%ige Aminosäuresequenzidentität mit den Maus- und Rattenorthologen aufweist. TNF RII wird hauptsächlich auf Zellen der hämatopoetischen Linie, wie T- und natürliche Killerzellen, sowie auf Endothelzellen, Mikroglia, Astrozyten, Neuronen, Oligodendrozyten, Herzmuskelzellen, Thymozyten und mesenchymalen Stammzellen exprimiert. TNF RII bindet an die membrangebundenen Formen von TNFα und Lymphotoxinα/TNFβ; lösliches TNF soll hauptsächlich über TNF RI signalisieren. Lösliches TNF RII soll die biologische Aktivität von TNF hemmen, indem es TNF bindet und es dadurch daran hindert, Membran-TNF-Rezeptoren zu aktivieren.
