Der Y+L-Aminosäuretransporter 1 ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das SLC7A7-Gen kodiert wird. Das durch dieses Gen kodierte Protein ist die leichte Untereinheit eines kationischen Aminosäuretransporters. Dieser natriumunabhängige Transporter wird gebildet, wenn die durch dieses Gen kodierte leichte Untereinheit mit dem schweren Untereinheitstransporterprotein SLC3A2 dimerisiert. Dieser Transporter befindet sich in den epithelialen Zellmembranen, wo er kationische und große neutrale Aminosäuren von der Zelle in den extrazellulären Raum transportiert. Defekte in diesem Gen sind eine Ursache für Lysinurische Proteinintoleranz (LPI). Alternatives Splicing führt zu mehreren Transkriptvarianten.
