Folliculin, auch bekannt als FLCN, Birt-Hogg-Dubé-Syndrom-Protein oder FLCN_HUMAN, ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen mit dem Birt-Hogg-Dubé-Syndrom und dem erblichen spontanen Pneumothorax assoziiert ist. Es wird durch das Folliculin (FLCN)-Gen (Alias BHD, FLCL) kodiert, das als Tumorsuppressorgen fungiert. Es ist auf 17p11.2 kartiert. Dieses Gen befindet sich in der Smith-Magenis-Syndrom-Region auf Chromosom 17. Mutationen in diesem Gen sind mit dem Birt-Hogg-Dube-Syndrom verbunden, das durch Fibrofollikulome, Nierentumoren, Lungenzysten und Pneumothorax gekennzeichnet ist.
