DKK1, Dickkopf-related protein 1, ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das DKK1-Gen kodiert wird. Dieses Gen kodiert für ein Protein, das zu der Dickkopf-Familie gehört. Durch genomische Sequenzanalyse wurde festgestellt, dass das DKK1-Gen 4 Exons enthält. Das DKK1-Gen ist mittels FISH auf 10q11.2 kartiert. Es ist ein sezerniertes Protein mit zwei cysteinreichen Regionen und ist an der embryonalen Entwicklung durch seine Hemmung des WNT-Signalwegs beteiligt. Erhöhte DKK1-Spiegel im Knochenmarkplasma und im peripheren Blut sind mit dem Vorhandensein osteolytischer Knochenläsionen bei Patienten mit multiplem Myelom assoziiert.
