Das Agouti-related protein (AgRP), auch als Agouti-related peptide bezeichnet, ist ein Neuropeptid, das im Gehirn von AgRP/NPY-Neuronen produziert wird. Beim Menschen wird das Agouti-related peptide durch das AGRP-Gen kodiert. Dieses Gen kodiert einen Antagonisten des Melanocortin-3- und Melanocortin-4-Rezeptors. Es scheint die hypothalamische Kontrolle des Fressverhaltens über den Melanocortinrezeptor und/oder die intrazelluläre Kalziumregulation zu regulieren und spielt somit eine Rolle bei der Gewichtshomöostase. Mutationen in diesem Gen wurden mit spät einsetzender Adipositas in Verbindung gebracht.
