C1QBP (complement C1q binding protein), also known as p32, gC1qR and HABP1, is a multifunctional protein studied in complement regulation, mitochondrial protein synthesis and RNA-associated cellular processes.
Biological function: C1QBP is a multifunctional, predominantly mitochondrial protein with established roles in mitochondrial ribosome function and protein synthesis. NCBI-curated evidence also describes binding to the globular heads of complement C1q and inhibition of C1 activation. Its p32, gC1qR and HABP1 names reflect experimental contexts reported for the same protein.
