Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4), also known as CREB-2 and cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4, is a bZIP transcription factor central to the integrated stress response. Biological function: ATF4 binds cAMP response elements and regulates metabolic and redox programmes while acting as a major transcriptional effector of the integrated stress response.
