NADPH-Oxidase (NAO) ist ein Membranprotein, das hauptsächlich in Säugetier-Neutrophilen, Pflanzenzellen und filamentösen Pilzzellen vorkommt und ursprünglich in phagozytischen Zellmembranen entdeckt wurde. NAO kann NADPH zu NAD+ oxidieren, während Superoxidanionen erzeugt werden, und ist eine der Hauptquellen für reaktive Sauerstoffspezies (ROS) im Körper. NAO ist an vielen wichtigen physiologischen Prozessen beteiligt, darunter Wirtsabwehr, posttranslationale Modifikation von Proteinen, Zellsignaltransduktion, Genexpressionsregulation und Zelldifferenzierung.
Das Nachweisprinzip dieses Kits ist wie folgt: NAO katalysiert die Bildung eines Produkts aus dem Substrat, das mit einem Farbmittel zu einer chromogenen Substanz reagiert. Diese Substanz weist eine maximale Absorption bei 450 nm auf. Die Enzymaktivität von NAO wird durch Messung des OD-Wertes bei 450 nm berechnet.
