PTGER2, also known as the prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2, is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor located at the plasma membrane. Binding of prostaglandin E2 activates Gs-dependent adenylate cyclase signalling and increases intracellular cAMP, contributing to regulation of processes including smooth-muscle tone, epithelial transport and inflammatory signalling.
