Perforin-1 (PRF1) is a pore-forming cytolytic protein stored in secretory granules of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells. Following immune-cell degranulation, perforin inserts into target-cell membranes and forms pores that facilitate granzyme entry and programmed target-cell death.
