Product description

Rabbit APOE(Apolipoprotein E) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring APOE in Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids samples from Rabbit. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Rabbit APOE. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rabbit APOE. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rabbit APOE in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

APOEapolipoprotein E

View target guide

Apolipoprotein E (APOE, ApoE) is a lipid-binding apolipoprotein that supports transport, uptake and clearance of lipoprotein-associated lipids. ABMIUM catalogue products linked below support research on APOE biology.

Biological function: Apolipoprotein E (APOE/ApoE) is a major apolipoprotein involved in lipoprotein-mediated lipid transport between tissues. It associates with several classes of circulating lipoproteins, binds receptors including LDL receptor family members and contributes to lipoprotein clearance, cholesterol transport and broader lipid homeostasis. APOE also has important roles in lipid transport within the central nervous system.
