ATG9A encodes a membrane phospholipid scramblase required for expansion of the forming autophagosome. This target record connects reviewed human ATG9A identifiers with ABMIUM catalogue products targeting ATG9A.
Biological function: ATG9A is a phospholipid scramblase central to autophagosome membrane expansion. It cycles between the phagophore assembly site and cytoplasmic vesicles, redistributing phospholipids across the bilayer so that membrane supplied during autophagosome growth can expand both leaflets. ATG9A also contributes to membrane trafficking events that support autophagosome initiation.
