Description

Recombinant Human Annexin A1 is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Ala2-Asn346 is expressed.

Background

Annexin A1 is the first characterized member of the annexin family of proteins and is able to bind to cellular membranes in a calcium-dependent manner, promoting membrane fusion and endocytosis. Annexin A1 has anti-inflammatory properties and inhibits phospholipase A2 activity. Annexin A1 also has roles in many diverse cellular functions, such as membrane aggregation, inflammation, phagocytosis, proliferation, apoptosis, and tumorigenesis and cancer development. ANXA1 is strongly expressed on the cell membrane and occasionally in the cytoplasm of tumor cells in 97% of samples from patients with hairy cell leukemia.

Handling information

Reconstitution Always centrifuge tubes before opening.Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100µg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.

Annexin A1 (ANXA1) is a calcium- and phospholipid-binding annexin family protein with established roles in inflammatory control, innate and adaptive immune responses, membrane organisation and cytoskeletal signalling.

Biological function: ANXA1 binds calcium and phospholipid membranes and acts as an anti-inflammatory regulator. Reviewed UniProt evidence supports roles in glucocorticoid-mediated control of inflammation, T-cell signalling and differentiation, phagocytosis, actin-cytoskeleton organisation and regulation of exocytosis.
