Product description

Ataxin-1 (ATXN1) is a chromatin-binding and RNA-binding protein involved in transcriptional regulation, including repression of Notch-responsive genes, and contributes to normal brain development. It is predominantly nuclear, and pathogenic polyglutamine expansion in ATXN1 causes spinocerebellar ataxia type 1, where abnormal nuclear accumulation is associated with neurodegeneration.
