A2M encodes alpha-2-macroglobulin, a large secreted plasma glycoprotein that acts as a broad-spectrum protease inhibitor and cytokine carrier. It is predominantly extracellular, especially in blood, where it traps diverse proteases and helps regulate proteolytic and inflammatory processes.
This Boster Bio product is a rabbit monoclonal antibody against human A2M, clone ABAO-1. The current manufacturer record supports A2M as the target; the previous catalogue text incorrectly labelled the protein as cytochrome P450 1A, so that conflicting claim has been removed.
