Rat BMPR1A(Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 1A) Microsample ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring BMPR1A in Tissue homogenates, Other biological fluids samples from Rat. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat BMPR1A. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat BMPR1A. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Rat BMPR1A, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat BMPR1A in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

BMPR1A (bone morphogenetic protein receptor type 1A; ALK3/ALK-3, BMPR-1A and CD292) is a type I transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptor in bone morphogenetic protein signalling. It forms ligand-induced complexes with type II BMP receptors to transmit TGF-beta-superfamily signals through SMAD transcriptional regulators.
Biological function: BMPR1A is a receptor serine/threonine kinase for BMP-family ligands including BMP2, BMP4, GDF5 and GDF6. After ligand binding, type II receptors phosphorylate and activate BMPR1A; the activated type I receptor then engages and activates SMAD transcriptional regulators. This receptor architecture links extracellular BMP cues to transcriptional programmes controlling processes such as differentiation and tissue patterning.
