Technical note
This CLIA kit uses the Sandwich-CLIA principle. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat ApoE. Samples or Standards are added to the micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat ApoE and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat ApoE, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear luminescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer at 425nm. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of Rat ApoE. You can calculate the concentration of Rat ApoE in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

APOEapolipoprotein E

View target guide

Apolipoprotein E (APOE, ApoE) is a lipid-binding apolipoprotein that supports transport, uptake and clearance of lipoprotein-associated lipids. ABMIUM catalogue products linked below support research on APOE biology.

Biological function: Apolipoprotein E (APOE/ApoE) is a major apolipoprotein involved in lipoprotein-mediated lipid transport between tissues. It associates with several classes of circulating lipoproteins, binds receptors including LDL receptor family members and contributes to lipoprotein clearance, cholesterol transport and broader lipid homeostasis. APOE also has important roles in lipid transport within the central nervous system.
