Technical note
This CLIA kit uses the Sandwich-CLIA principle. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse ApoB. Samples or Standards are added to the micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Mouse ApoB and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Mouse ApoB, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear luminescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer at 425nm. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of Mouse ApoB. You can calculate the concentration of Mouse ApoB in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

APOB (apolipoprotein B) encodes the major structural apolipoprotein of chylomicrons and low-density lipoproteins. Human APOB gives rise to two principal plasma forms: ApoB-100, synthesized mainly in the liver and acting as a ligand for the LDL receptor, and ApoB-48, produced in the intestine through RNA editing. Researchers use APOB to investigate lipoprotein particle biology, lipid transport and receptor-mediated clearance.

Biological function: Apolipoprotein B provides the core protein scaffold for major circulating lipoprotein particles. ApoB-100 is the full-length hepatic form found in LDL and functions as a recognition ligand for LDL-receptor-mediated particle uptake. ApoB-48 is the shorter intestinal form in chylomicrons and is generated from the same APOB transcript by RNA editing that introduces an early stop codon. These forms link APOB to transport of triglyceride- and cholesterol-rich particles between tissues.
