MIA, also known as melanoma-derived growth regulatory protein or melanoma inhibitory activity protein, is a secreted extracellular protein expressed notably by chondrocytes and melanoma cells. It interacts with extracellular matrix components including fibronectin and has been linked to regulation of cell adhesion, migration and cartilage biology.
