Product description

mTOR (phospho Thr2446) rabbit pAb is a research-use antibody from ELK Biotechnology for studying mTOR in WB, IHC, ELISA workflows with listed reactivity for Human, Mouse, Rat. Specifications and supporting documents below should be reviewed when planning the experiment.

Background

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of phosphatidylinositol kinase-related kinases. These kinases mediate cellular responses to stresses such as DNA damage and nutrient deprivation. This protein acts as the target for the cell-cycle arrest and immunosuppressive effects of the FKBP12-rapamycin complex. The ANGPTL7 gene is located in an intron of this gene. Research target context

MTORmechanistic target of rapamycin kinase

View target guide

Mechanistic target of rapamycin kinase (MTOR), commonly called mTOR, is a serine/threonine protein kinase and core component of mTOR signalling complexes. This ABMIUM record connects NCBI Gene 2475 and UniProtKB P42345 to catalogue-backed research products.

Biological function: Mechanistic target of rapamycin kinase (mTOR/MTOR) is the catalytic kinase of mTORC1 and mTORC2. These complexes integrate nutrient, energy and growth-factor signals to regulate processes including protein synthesis, cell growth, metabolism, survival and cytoskeletal organisation.
