ACE2 Rabbit pAb is a research-use antibody from ELK Biotechnology for studying ACE2 in WB, IHC workflows with listed reactivity for Human, Mouse, Rat. Specifications and supporting documents below should be reviewed when planning the experiment.
angiotensin I converting enzyme 2(ACE2) Homo sapiens The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the angiotensin-converting enzyme family of dipeptidyl carboxydipeptidases and has considerable homology to human angiotensin 1 converting enzyme. This secreted protein catalyzes the cleavage of angiotensin I into angiotensin 1-9, and angiotensin II into the vasodilator angiotensin 1-7. The organ- and cell-specific expression of this gene suggests that it may play a role in the regulation of cardiovascular and renal function, as well as fertility. In addition, the encoded protein is a functional receptor for the spike glycoprotein of the human coronaviruses SARS and HCoV-NL63.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2; also known as ACEH) is a membrane-associated metallopeptidase in the renin-angiotensin system. This target record connects human NCBI Gene 59272, reviewed UniProtKB Q9BYF1 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is a counter-regulatory carboxypeptidase of the renin-angiotensin system. It converts angiotensin I to angiotensin-(1-9) and angiotensin II to angiotensin-(1-7), helping counterbalance classical angiotensin II signalling and supporting cardiovascular homeostasis. ACE2 also functions as a cellular receptor for HCoV-NL63, SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins.
