Thrombomodulin (Thbd/CD141) is an endothelial cell-surface glycoprotein that binds thrombin and shifts its activity towards activation of protein C, supporting anticoagulant regulation. In mouse, Thbd is located at the external side of the plasma membrane and is expressed across vascular and other tissues.
