Product description

Rat MMP2(Matrix Metalloproteinase 2) Microsample ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring MMP2 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Cell culture supernatant, Other biological fluids samples from Rat. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat MMP2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat MMP2. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Rat MMP2, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat MMP2 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

View target guide

MMP2 identifies matrix metallopeptidase 2 in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 4313, UniProtKB P08253 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: MMP2 is a matrix metalloproteinase that remodels extracellular matrix and contributes to vascular remodelling, angiogenesis, tissue repair, inflammation and tumour-associated tissue invasion.
