Product description

Mouse FABP4(Fatty Acid Binding Protein 4, Adipocyte) Microsample ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring FABP4 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Other biological fluids samples from Mouse. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse FABP4. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Mouse FABP4. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Mouse FABP4, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Mouse FABP4 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

FABP4fatty acid binding protein 4

View target guide

FABP4 identifies fatty acid binding protein 4 in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 2167, UniProtKB P15090 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: Fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4; A-FABP/aP2) is a cytoplasmic lipid-binding protein enriched in adipocytes that binds long-chain fatty acids and related hydrophobic ligands and participates in fatty-acid transport and metabolic signalling.
