ANGPTL4 (angiopoietin like 4), also known as angiopoietin-related protein 4 and FIAF, is a secreted glycoprotein studied for regulation of lipoprotein lipase, triglyceride clearance, lipid metabolism and metabolic homeostasis.
Biological function: ANGPTL4 is a secreted regulator of lipid metabolism. Reviewed UniProt evidence shows that it inhibits lipoprotein lipase (LPL), limiting triglyceride hydrolysis and clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins.
