Human C-Peptide ELISA Kit PicoKine®
ELISA Kit supplied by Boster Bio Read more ›

Product Description
C-Peptide, or connecting peptide, is a short peptide chain that is produced during the synthesis of insulin. When proinsulin is cleaved to form insulin, C-Peptide is released as a byproduct. It serves as a useful biomarker for assessing insulin production in the body because its levels reflect the amount of insulin secreted by the pancreas. Unlike insulin, C-Peptide has a longer half-life in the bloodstream, making it easier to measure. Elevated levels of C-Peptide can indicate insulinoma or insulin resistance, while low levels may suggest type 1 diabetes or pancreatic dysfunction. Understanding C-Peptide levels can help in diagnosing and managing various metabolic disorders.
