Human CD163(Cluster Of Differentiation) Microsample ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring CD163 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Other biological fluids samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human CD163. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human CD163. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human CD163, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human CD163 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
Alternative names include M130; MM130; Scavenger receptor cysteine-rich type 1 protein M130; Hemoglobin scavenger receptor.

CD163 (CD163 molecule; M130) is a scavenger receptor expressed principally by monocytes and macrophages. This ABMIUM target record links human CD163 (NCBI Gene 9332; UniProt Q86VB7) to catalogue-backed research products.
Biological function: CD163 is a scavenger receptor on monocytes and macrophages that mediates clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin-haptoglobin complexes. This pathway can limit exposure to free hemoglobin and associated oxidative damage and contributes to innate immune sensing.
