Phospholipase C (PLC) is a hydrolase that breaks down phosphatidylinositol diphosphate (PIP2) to form diacylglycerol (DAG) and inositol triphosphate (IP3). PLCS are widely found in bacteria, plants and animals. Its abnormal expression is associated with a variety of cancers, and studying the PLC mechanism can help develop new anticancer therapies. PLC also play a key role in nerve signaling and protection, helping to understand and treat neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, PLC plays an important role in insulin signaling and lipid metabolism, making it a hot topic in diabetes and obesity research.
PLC catalyzes the substrate to produce chromogenic substance has maximum absorption at 410 nm, and the PLC enzyme activity is calculated by measuring OD value at 410 nm.
