Interleukin-27 p28 (IL-27p28, also known as IL-30) is the alpha subunit of the heterodimeric cytokine IL-27. It is produced predominantly by antigen-presenting cells and is found in the extracellular space, where IL-27 signalling contributes to regulation of T-cell responses, lymphocyte activity and host defence.
