CXCL5 is a secreted CXC chemokine that signals primarily through CXCR2 and contributes to neutrophil recruitment during inflammatory responses. In mice it is produced by multiple cell types in response to inflammatory cues and acts in the extracellular environment to coordinate leukocyte trafficking.
