NGFR, also known as p75NTR, CD271 or TNFRSF16, is a single-pass transmembrane neurotrophin receptor with an extracellular ligand-binding domain and intracellular death domain. It is expressed in neural and non-neural tissues and can modulate survival, differentiation, apoptosis and tissue repair depending on cellular context and co-receptor signalling.
