Peroxiredoxin 1 (PRDX1) is a thiol-dependent peroxidase that removes hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides, helping protect cells from oxidative stress while also contributing to redox-sensitive signalling. PRDX1 is predominantly intracellular, with major cytosolic localisation and context-dependent association with other cellular compartments.
