ADRB2 is the beta-2 adrenergic receptor, a cell-surface G protein-coupled receptor that responds to catecholamines, particularly adrenaline, and regulates signalling pathways involved in smooth-muscle tone, cardiac function and metabolism. As a multi-pass membrane receptor, ADRB2 is localised principally to the plasma membrane, with receptor trafficking also occurring through intracellular membrane compartments.
