Product description

Human ACTN3(Actinin Alpha 3) Microsample ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring ACTN3 in Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Other biological fluids samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human ACTN3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human ACTN3. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human ACTN3, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human ACTN3 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

ACTN3actinin alpha 3

View target guide

Actinin alpha 3 (ACTN3), encoding alpha-actinin-3, is a skeletal-muscle actin-binding protein concentrated in fast type 2 fibres. This record connects NCBI Gene 89, reviewed UniProtKB Q08043 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: Alpha-actinin-3, encoded by ACTN3 (actinin alpha 3), is an F-actin cross-linking and bundling protein that contributes to the sarcomeric Z line. It is primarily associated with skeletal muscle, with reviewed UniProt reporting protein expression restricted to fast type 2 skeletal-muscle fibres.
