Hamartin, encoded by TSC1, is a non-catalytic component of the TSC complex, which restrains mTORC1 signalling by regulating RHEB. TSC1 functions with TSC2 in intracellular signalling associated with control of cell growth and metabolism and is described by Boster as a peripheral membrane protein.
