CSF2, also known as GM-CSF, is a secreted cytokine that promotes the growth, differentiation and functional activation of haematopoietic precursor cells, particularly cells of the granulocyte and macrophage lineages. It is produced by several immune and stromal cell types and acts through the GM-CSF receptor complex.
