APC (APC regulator of Wnt signaling pathway; adenomatous polyposis coli protein) is a multifunctional tumour-suppressor scaffold best known for restraining canonical Wnt signalling by promoting beta-catenin turnover.
Biological function: APC is a core component of the beta-catenin destruction machinery and promotes CTNNB1/beta-catenin degradation when canonical Wnt signalling is inactive. APC also associates with cytoskeletal systems, contributing to cell polarity, migration and cellular organisation.
