Technical note
This CLIA kit uses the Sandwich-CLIA principle. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat TNF-α. Samples or Standards are added to the micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat TNF-α and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat TNF-α, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear luminescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer at 425nm. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of Rat TNF-α. You can calculate the concentration of Rat TNF-α in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

TNFTumor necrosis factor

View target guide

TNF encodes a multifunctional pro-inflammatory cytokine in the tumour necrosis factor superfamily. This target hub connects accepted names and identifiers with ABMIUM antibodies, ELISA kits and related assay products.

Biological function: TNF is produced as a membrane-associated cytokine and can be released in soluble form. Signalling through TNFRSF1A (TNFR1) and TNFRSF1B (TNFR2) contributes to regulation of inflammation, immune responses, cell survival, differentiation and cell death.
