NF-kappa-B inhibitor beta (NFKBIB, IκBβ) is a regulatory protein that controls NF-κB signalling by binding NF-κB complexes and retaining them in the cytoplasm. Its regulated phosphorylation and degradation contribute to the timing and persistence of inflammatory and immune transcriptional responses, and newly synthesised NFKBIB can also participate in NF-κB nuclear transport.
