SLC1A2, also known as EAAT2 or GLT-1, is a high-affinity sodium-dependent glutamate transporter that removes extracellular glutamate from synaptic regions. It is an integral membrane transporter with a central role in maintaining glutamate homeostasis in the central nervous system and limiting excessive activation of glutamate receptors. SLC1A2 is strongly associated with astrocytic plasma membranes, where it supports clearance of released neurotransmitter from the extracellular space.
This Boster Bio antibody recognises SLC1A2/EAAT2/GLT-1. Boster lists RP1065 for detection of the transporter in mouse and rat samples.
