Product description

Hamster ADIPOQ(Adiponectin) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring ADIPOQ in Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids samples from Hamster. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Hamster ADIPOQ. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Hamster ADIPOQ. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Hamster ADIPOQ, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Hamster ADIPOQ in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

View target guide

Adiponectin, C1Q and collagen domain containing (ADIPOQ) encodes the secreted adipokine adiponectin, also known by established names including Acrp30 and GBP28. Human ADIPOQ is represented by NCBI Gene 9370 and reviewed UniProtKB Q15848, with related ABMIUM catalogue reagents for research use.

Biological function: ADIPOQ encodes adiponectin, a secreted adipokine involved in regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Adiponectin promotes AMPK activation in liver and skeletal muscle, supports glucose utilisation and fatty-acid oxidation, and has anti-inflammatory and anti-atherogenic activities.
