APLP1 (amyloid beta precursor like protein 1; APLP) is a neuronal membrane glycoprotein in the amyloid precursor protein family. It undergoes secretase-dependent processing and is studied in synaptic maturation, neuronal signalling and APP-family biology.
Biological function: APLP1 is processed by secretases in a manner related to other amyloid precursor protein family members. Reviewed UniProt supports roles in postsynaptic function, signalling through C-terminal binding partners and regulation of neurite outgrowth through extracellular-matrix interactions.
